My Digital World

Who We Are

Working in partnership with experts across Sub-Saharan Africa, My Digital World provides accessible learning modules and resources to build skills for a digital world. Through My Digital World, Meta is reaching learners across the region and shaping the Sub-Saharan digital community for the better.

The lessons are designed for learners of two distinct age groups: youth [13 – 17 years old], and adults [18+ years old]. The curriculum is designed with step-by-step instructions for facilitators and teachers with lessons drawn from the resources of several expert partners with experience designing content and curriculum.

What is digital citizenship and why does it matter?

Digital citizenship is the continuous development of the skills on appropriate, responsible, and empowered use of technology. These skills include helping people to:

Stay safe, build resilience, and discern fact from fiction.

Lead with empathy, communicate across diverse cultures, and respect other perspectives.

Think critically abut how they can contribute to society and work together to make positive progress, online and off.

Build healthy relationships and find greater wellbeing.

We all play a part in creating responsible digital citizens and building a brighter future.
